Fontana Lake NC is a 29 mile long, 11,700 acre lake owned and managed by the Tennessee Valley Authority. In fact, in 2001 the Fisherman’s Bass Tournament Circuit held its annual Hall of Fame Classic at Fontana Lake NC, and since then the lake has gained quite a bit of attention as a great smallmouth bass fishing lake.

Pristine and preserved, Fontana Lake NC’s shoreline offers breathtaking scenery as more than 90 percent of the lands have remained undeveloped since they are owned by either the National Park Service or the US Forest Service. In fact, parts of the Great Smoky National Park, including the park’s tallest peak at Clingman’s Dome, are visible from the lake and offer some truly stunning views.
